FINGERS Thru Soil!

Do you remember the movie Carrie?
Not that remake shit, but the original.  The “Plug it up!  Plug it up!” Carrie.
Well, I’m a huge horror fan and there are very few scary movies that get under my skin.
Carrie was one of them.
<spoiler ahead….seriously..have you really not seen Carrie yet?!>
At the end when her hand comes up through the rocks and dirt laid on her grave..
Well, think of me as Carrie — gone, but not really.
I’m rising again.
Because times are a-changin’….

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won’t come again
And don’t speak too soon
For the wheel’s still in spin
And there’s no tellin’ who
That it’s namin’
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin’.

Pass the word…..

Sit Down Summer

♥ Hot Flashes and Night Sweats.
Raise your hands if you know these two scoundrels personally.
If you haven’t a clue, press your hands together and praise the heavens.
I’m pretty sure I’ve written about this before, but it bares repeating…
It’s Too Darn Hot!
Summer makes me overheat.
Heat makes me sweat.
Sweat makes me miserable.
A miserable Zoomy makes on-lookers pity her surrounding loved ones.
Add the two scoundrels from above and you’ve got the makings of a war.
So, how does this woman put her hormones and the
elements aside to remain centered, grounded and a beacon of love and light?
A comfortable chair, plenty of ice cold water and
the best personal fan money can buy.

Enjoy your upcoming Summer —
raising the temperature of compassion and truth ♥

Chasing Verity

October Skies(Featuring October’s 4 Seasons Makeup)*

He walked out of my ex-boyfriend’s house.
What in the world was he doing there?
With slightly wavy blonde hair and a smile upon his lips, he held his head down.
I couldn’t see his face and we had never officially met,
but I knew I had to catch him.
His feet were fast.
Bounding down streets and turning corners at lightening speed,
I couldn’t keep up.
I missed a previous call he had placed to me and try as I might to return it,
the number kept coming back as incorrect.
Then it dawned on me — since he was in my ex-boyfriend’s house,
why not call there?
A little girl answered and with a shaky voice I asked for him by name,
“…is Verity there?”

I had no idea what that word meant before I had that dream several nights ago.
But, it’s all I have been thinking of since.
1. the state or quality of being true; accordance with fact or reality.
2. something that is true, as a principle, belief, idea or statement.

Obviously, I am seeking my own truth and
as elusive as it may be, I am determined to find it.
Forgive me, Verity, for missing your call, but if you will dial my digits once again,
I promise to answer — willing and ready.

And what of you?
Does Verity have your number? ♥

Helping Hands

Have you ever been hungry?
Not the..
“Gawd, I’m soooo stressed!  I’m gonna eat that half gallon of ice cream in the freezer.”
or the…
“Am I really hungry an hour after eating all that Chinese food?  Must be all the carbs.”
nor the…
“No, doughnut!  I will not listen to you calling my name…well, maybe just this once.”

None of those reasons are even remotely close to real hunger.
Ask those devastated by the earthquake and aftershocks in Nepal.
Millions have been displaced and know first-hand what it is to be truly hungry.
But, there is hope.

Founded in 1961, The World Food Programme (WFP) is the food assistance branch of the United Nations and the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.  With the magnitude of the earthquake in Nepal, WFP immediately put together a Nepal Earthquake response cell and has quickly moved to support the survivors.
But, the help does not stop there.

Join Hands For Nepal: Fashion For Food,
an event taking place within Second Life, is supporting and creating awareness for those in Nepal.   Contributors known in Second Life for there art, skill and brand are donating 100% of their proceeds which will in-turn support WFP and their efforts.
I am wearing the lovely SnowpawsElegance Gown created by Carrie Snowpaw who took it upon herself to participate.
But, you must hurry.
Join Hands ends today, May 16th.
Your ride awaits you here.

Peace ♥

Wedged The Right Way

, , , , , , , , , ,

Wedge_and_FriendsThere are times in life where you just feel you’re between a rock and a hard place.
Wedged between the inconceivable and the impossible.
Those are the times when we should just stop — stop trying to break free.
Although, it may be difficult, start observing the positive around you.
Be thankful for the air you breathe, your ears to hear with and sight (spiritual sight, as well) to see with.  Before long, the space between the rock and the hard will begin to loosen and you’ll be set free.

For you Second Lifers, a new wedge has been created,
but this one is to be celebrated.
Guu Nishi, owner and designer of HOC Industries is back and with a vengeance offering us HOC junkies Wedgie Boots. (Pictured above)
These boots, like many of Guu’s designs, come with what I call a “Mega HUD.”
Being able to choose between 12 colors for the main part of the boot,
toe, edge and laces, the combinations are endless.
Completing my outfit with HOC’s Wrinkled Pleated Skirt and Tokyo77 Flimsy Tank, my friends and I are ready for any situation — impossible or not. ♥♥

Letting Loose With Fashion For Change

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Well, this is it!
My last entry regarding Fashion For Change on
the last day of a worthwhile event.
It began with The Power of Love with Fashion For Change to
The Wizard of Awe Loves Fashion For Change featuring Baboom.
I then featured Lyrical Bizarre Templates by
Being Kewpie With Fashion For Change
and later announcing There’s a Fairy Godmother at Fashion For Change
with Romance Couture waving her magic wand.
Now, on this last chance to bring attention to FFC 2015
and Womankind Worldwide, the charity this event supports,
I’ve chosen these last two designers:

There are many things I love about Wicca Merlin.
One of them is the fact that she understands my
occasional need for the outrageous.
Giving me carte blanche to style her designs as I see fit,
this sense of freedom has brought about some
of the best images I have ever created.
With that said, allow me to introduce Wicca Wardrobe’s contribution to FFC which is the Aelinia Jacket in Marsala.
With this being for charity,
I decided not to let myself become too loose
and allow the design to speak for itself.
And speak it does, but not alone.
The Thigh High Boots in Black by COCO work perfectly.
Sleek, slim and without a lot of bells and whistles to distract,
these boots are the grand go-to choice.

On this, being my last Fashion For Change entry,
I’d like to thank FFC’s staff for putting their faith
in my ability to bring attention to their cause.  I hope I did not disappoint.
And don’t you disappoint, either.
Here’s the key to your Bentley.
Hop in, make a purchase(s) and change lives.

Peace be unto you ♥

There’s a Fairy Godmother at Fashion For Change

You know the story…
An underprivileged chick whose father has bad taste in women,
slaves away for her hateful stepmother and fugly stepsisters.
But, whom shall appear to rescue our fair damsel from distress?
Well, guess what?
Cindy doesn’t hold the monopoly on fairy godmothers.
Fashion For Change has their very own and she is willing to
bestow upon us all our couture desires.
I wanted to be a lady — a pretty woman even Julia Roberts couldn’t touch.

Pretty_WomanComplete transformation!

Last week my chosen Fashion For Change designers were
Boom and Lyrical Bizarre Templates.

Today, the spotlight is on

Romance Couture aka Fashion For Change’s Fairy Godmother,
delivers to us this oh so lady-like ensemble called Garalang.
Coming in many colors, I chose the vibrant blue.
The rest of the work was pretty much done for me since Garalang comes in tow with a matching purse and hat.
Now, I am sitting pretty.
So can you.
All you have to do is make a wish, click your heels three times and you’re there.
Yes, yes…I know it’s the wrong story, but all is fair in fashion and fantasy.

Fashion For Change.
It’s a great cause

Being A Kewpie With Fashion For Change

The Kewpie Doll.
How adorable they are.
Normally seen wearing nothing but a smile,  they are the epitome of innocence.
Thanks to Fashion For Change, all of that is about to change.
Not their innocence, but their nakedness.

In my last entry, I featured the Fashion For Change designer Baboom in
The Wizard of Awe Loves Fashion For Change.
Who shall the talented designer be for today?

Kewpie_DollLadies and Gentlemen,
I am self-proclaiming to be the official Fashion For Change Kewpie Doll.
Isn’t this ensemble, fab?
It’s called Lolita and words cannot express how much I adore it.
The bright colors of the sexy top and cleverly designed skirt are a
magnet for the eyes.
I, being a mix and matcher, will catch myself dreaming about the different ways I can incorporate each piece with other clothing items.
You will, too.
‘Tis Haute Couture at it’s finest.
However, there are only six Fashion For Change days left to snag this delight,
so don’t dawdle.
Besides, it’s for a very worthy cause and when we bless others,
we in turn are blessed ♥

The Wizard of Awe Loves Fashion For Change

Greetings, Lovers of the Universe!
How is life treating you?
My life is grand.
I’m full off of pizza, cinnamon sticks and orange soda.
I’m not being threatened with violence, inequality and discrimination.
I’m blessed.
However, there are those who are not as fortunate.
Have no idea what I’m referring to?
That can only mean one thing.  You missed my last entry.
Shame on you!
But, not to worry.  Here is the chance to redeem yourself.
Take a moment to read The Power of Love with Fashion For Change.
I’ll wait.

Good.  Now we are on the same page and I can proceed with my first featured designer:

This ethnic ensemble is called Mandala and consists of a mesh dress, two upper arm bracelets, two lower arm bracelets, a hat and a bow.
One of the features I love about Mandala is that the hat and bow are completely modifiable.  This means if you have a big head or a sloped forehead as I do, re-sizing the hat is easy peasy.  What’s that?  You’re not into hats?  Not a problem because the bow looks great independently on it’s own.  Wear it in your hair or shrink it and attached it to your chest for a nice touch.
Btw, you won’t need to wear the bow in the back since the dress comes with a large red one already attached.

Follow the yellow textured prim brick road to Fashion For Change and look for Baboom.
It’s for a worthy cause ♥

Fashion For Change Logo

The Power of Love is a curious thing
Make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
More than a feeling
That’s the Power of Love

~ Huey Lewis & The News ~

When this tune first hit the airwaves back in the 80s, I was hooked!
With it’s catchy beat, I would blast it loud and hard not paying any
real attention to the song’s title….The Power of Love.
Not the weakness of love.
Not the obsessiveness of love.
Not the oh my gawd he gets on my damn ass nerves kind of love.
The Power of Love.
Diagnosed as a “powerful neurological condition”,
Love is a force which can move mountains in it’s purest form.
I’ve said it before in my entry Spiritualism and I’ll say it again…
‘Tis all about Love, Precious.

Now that you’re all warm and fuzzy,
I’d like to draw your attention to the second part of this entry’s title.
The Fashion For Change part.

Womankind Worldwide is a little known International charity,
which does profoundly important work helping to challenge discrimination,
inequality and violence towards women in the developing world.
It provides support to local women’s organizations in these countries
as they fight to improve women’s rights and the lives of women in
Africa, Asia and South America.
Fashion For Change (FFC), is a virtual world charity event sponsored by
The Best of Second Life (BOSL) and Miss Virtual World (MVW).
Open until April 25th, FFC is a fantastic two week shopping,
entertainment and high fashion spectacular designed to raise funds strictly for Womankind Worldwide.

Not into Second Life or any other virtual worlds, for that matter?
Not a problem.  You still can participate.
Go directly to the Womankind site, read all about them and if you would like to support their cause, hit the yellow ‘Give a Gift’ button on the home page.

I have dedicated my time to capturing images of the exclusive designs created by well-known Second Life designers for FFC — designers who are
graciously donating 50% and more from each sale.
So, for the next several posts, I will bring to you Haute Couture along with words of encouragement as we put the Power of Love in action ♥
